Why did Binance stop supporting the hryvnia, and what should you do next?

Why did Binance stop supporting the hryvnia, and what should you do next?

In September 2026, Binance announced changes for Ukrainian users. The exchange disabled some hryvnia-related services and removed the option to buy USDT directly with hryvnias. For those who were used to using Binance, the news came as an unpleasant surprise. But this does not mean that cryptocurrency is now unavailable; no, just the familiar exchange process has changed, and withdrawing money has to be arranged in other ways.

What exactly changed in Binance’s handling of the hryvnia in 2026

On September 28, Binance disabled Fiat Trade UAH, which previously allowed users to deposit and withdraw hryvnias. The exchange also removed the USDT/UAH trading pair, where users bought and sold digital assets directly. Previously, exchanging currencies took a few familiar steps, but now that option is gone. Withdrawals via Fiat Trade UAH have ceased, although the exchange’s other services continue to operate. All uncompleted USDT/UAH orders were automatically canceled. So if you had an open trade that was not completed in time, it is worth checking your transaction history. At the same time, the hryvnia has not disappeared from Binance entirely, and cryptocurrency remains in users’ accounts. So keep in mind: the changes affected specific services, not the entire exchange.

Why did Binance abandon direct transactions with the hryvnia?

Binance did not explain in detail why it stopped supporting the hryvnia through Fiat Trade UAH. The announcement stated the shutdown date but did not specify the reasons. The decision may be related to the banks or payment companies that previously handled transfers. However, there is no official confirmation of this, so the exact reason cannot yet be stated.

For ordinary users, the situation is quite simple: the former USDT/UAH exchange option is gone, but cryptocurrency is still available. You can hold it, sell other coins, or send it to external wallets. At the same time, withdrawals of digital assets were not canceled along with Fiat Trade UAH, so there is no need to urgently transfer all your money out of Binance.

What will happen to the hryvnia and cryptocurrency in your Binance balance?

If you had hryvnia left on Binance, the exchange arranged for these funds to be automatically converted to USDT. The conversion was carried out at the set exchange rate, so users did not need to sell their hryvnia themselves or make any additional transactions. If it is currently unclear where your hryvnia went, you should open your transaction history and check your balance. If necessary, you can contact Binance support to find out whether the transfer was made and what amount was credited to your account.

As for other coins, the cryptocurrency remains in users’ accounts. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other assets did not disappear when the USDT/UAH trading pair was closed. Therefore, withdrawing all your coins at once is not required, and you can make the exchange through other available routes.

How to buy USDT with hryvnia on Binance now?

One option you can check is Binance P2P. Here, users buy and sell cryptocurrency with each other, while the exchange helps process the order. Suppose you need to buy 100 USDT and want to pay in hryvnia. You find a seller, check their price, and choose a suitable payment method, if available.

Before buying, it’s worth checking a few things:

  • Compare prices from different sellers, since exchanging the same amount can cost different amounts even on the same platform.
  • Check reviews and the number of completed orders to understand how long the person has been selling cryptocurrency.
  • Check the minimum amount, since not every seller accepts small transfers.
  • Don’t send money using payment details from private messages if they differ from those listed in the order.
  • Check the final cost of USDT, since additional expenses may affect the total amount.

If there’s no suitable offer, you can use a crypto exchange service. Obmify makes it easy to find services that offer exchanges from hryvnia to USDT, with the coins sent to your chosen wallet. The hryvnia is deducted using the selected payment method, and the cryptocurrency you receive is sent to the specified details.

How to withdraw USDT from Binance and receive hryvnias on a Ukrainian card?

Suppose you have 500 USDT on Binance and need regular money on a bank card. In that case, you can choose a service that exchanges cryptocurrency for hryvnias. On Obmify, you can compare offers from different exchangers and check exchange rates, available amounts, and customer reviews.

After choosing a service, you need to submit a request and get an address to send the USDT to. Then the user logs into Binance, enters the details, and selects the required network. It is important not to choose the wrong blockchain here: if the exchanger accepts USDT TRC20, then the withdrawal from Binance must also be made via TRC20; otherwise, the coins may not arrive. Once the cryptocurrency reaches the exchanger, they will process the request and send hryvnias to the card; the time it takes to arrive depends on the service selected and the bank. Before confirming the transfer, it is worth checking the amount, fee, and details once again. If you are exchanging for the first time, it is better to start with a small amount to get familiar with the process.

What are the alternatives for exchanging hryvnias for cryptocurrency?

Following Binance’s changes, there’s no need to look for ways to buy cryptocurrency only on this exchange, as exchanges are now available through other trading platforms, P2P services, and online exchangers.

If you need cryptocurrency in exchange for hryvnias, you can compare offers from several services and choose the best rate. Hryvnias can be used for payment, for example, with a bank card. Those who need to withdraw funds to a card can use exchangers that offer bank transfers. If you want to receive cash, you can look for services that dispense it at a cashier’s desk. It’s important to bear in mind that an exchange doesn’t always take place at the rate the user first saw – some platforms include a fee in the price, so it’s best to check the final amount in advance. Following the changes on Binance, Ukrainians can still buy and sell cryptocurrency for hryvnias, but now they need to choose other methods. Many exchange services accept hryvnias, so you can make an exchange without using Binance.
